This illustration was for a Master's project I did at Falmouth University. The small project was to create an editorial illustration that reflects the article that was given to me. My article was about how art transports us without physically moving.

My piece was created with a combination of watercolours and colouring pencils.
The eye is completely colouring pencils and so are the frames that surround it, whilst the dark inky background is created through watercolours.
The illustration is meant to reflect how in art we get transported to another universe through our eyes rather than our feet or any other vehicle. The eye is engulfed by various empty frames for the audience to place their own perception of art in them. The eye itself does not have to replicate accurately a human eye's coloring, since I chose the eye colours to be similar to a galaxy, whilst the frames are gold to symbolise stars.
